What's the benefit of using the Open AI API key vs their subscription? Just more cost-effective or are there privacy/speed/computational improvements as well? Just started using Cursor late last week; it's been great.
What tools allow me to upload a PDF / word doc and then be able to ask it questions and get answers. Example: upload consultant report and generate key points for my own memo.
Can't use Chat Gpt because it's not private (even with the privacy setting turned on, data remains on their server for 30 days).
I had a service saved up somewhere but can't find it. But to your point with privacy, that's very important. It seems like a lot of companies saying blanket statements like "yeah bro we keep your server stored in a server". When they should be doing military grade encryption practices. Why can't they tell potential clients that they outsource to 3rd party companies that do audits so that data is deleted after you're done analyzing.
The post alone is worth multiples of yearly sub! Appreciate the write up - would be great have more of these, specifically how AI tools can be leveraged by the Solopreneur
diablo, warcraft, starcraft and wow were my favourite games of my youth. blizz has gone to hell since the activision purchase and going woke. i still miss the old blizz but time to move on i guess. thanks for you mark for your work on these games
If you were to create a simulation of reality and make it convincing. what era of history would you base it on?
The most obvious answer is to model your reality on the period in which you have the most data. What are the odds that we are alive here, today rather than being born at any of the prior thousands of years in the past?
If we can imagine that it is possible to create an AI/Virtual reality simulation at some point in the 'future' odds are that we are already in one. Why bother trying to model a convincing simulation of some period in antiquity when the modern era is the earliest period in history to have so much data - orders of magnitude more than prior eras.
I've had the paid version of ChatGPT for a few months now but I fail to see how it is better than the unpaid one. Am I missing something? Perhaps I am not using it to its full potential?
Also, do you know what changes technically between GPT-3.5 and GPT-4.0?
The concept of using an AI as a 'sidekick' to bolster productivity is fascinating and raises some intriguing points about the future of work and personal development. While AI can undoubtedly handle a lot of the menial tasks that often bog us down, I'm curious about the ethical considerations, especially when it comes to data privacy and job displacement.
Moreover, I think it's essential to weigh the pros and cons of relying too heavily on AI for personal or professional tasks. While technology can help us become more efficient, there's also the risk of diminishing our own skills or becoming too dependent on it. But as a financial planner, I can see the enormous potential in automating data analysis and client reporting tasks, freeing up time for higher-value activities like client consultations.
Mark, you've done an excellent job outlining the benefits and limitations, adding a nuanced perspective to this emerging trend. Thank you for the read!
Mark, this is a great article and thank you for spending the time to teach us about AI.
Tip for all:
Brian Roemmele has some awesome tweets on super prompting. You’ll 10x your ability to speak w/chatGPT
Nick St. Pierre has some awesome tutorials for midjourney. I’ve stopped using stock photos for my articles and product pages and rely entirely on MJ.
Canva has a new AI feature that is similar to what Adobe has. Cool for editing my Mj photos lol.
11 labs is what i use to create voice overs for my YT vids.
The one thing I won’t do is to write content with AI, or at least anything published is human written (but AI assisted in research/outline).
Cheers!
ALFA!

Aweesome!!
he is correct, I grabbed the simple version of Stable Diffusion 1.5, could run it locally.
Dropped a couple of bucks on SD_XL, the quality difference is absurdly better.
Stick with cloud computing if you are serious about this stuff.
Also, Hi Grummz.
If you’re coding get the Cursor fork of VSCode and pony up for OpenAi API key credits. Game changer. BT community needs to know.

They throttle you. API key is pricier. I’m working fast now so will pay for no limits but will checkout their paid subscription at some point.
Appreciate it, thanks man.

I found another one:

I'd like to know too. This one can do summaries for PDFs.

StarCraft began my life haha thanks Mark!
Is it worth getting GPT4? Been using the GPT3 for my marketing needs (shorts, videos, and content ideas)
Absolutely. Sign up for one month and test it out.
Been using it it daily since the paid version came out

W post.
Anyone know of any ai tools that allow you to scrape Amazon / App Store reviews and summarize pros and cons?
one thing I've done is manually copy/paste a bunch of the reviews into chatgpt and ask it to summarize it all.
I even include the "about this item" in the prompt so that it can take that into consideration. But it's still manual.
