I didn't want to post this on Twitter, to not have people I know, have more insight into my life and finances... I just wanted to state that I started following years ago and the decisions I've made in my life followed the early advice given which mimics what's on this post. Moved into sales, crushing it big now, and took a shot at doing something on my own, which I will say was extremely nerve-wracking as I was concerned about what my company would think if they found out.

I have since closed a decent amount of business that will cover my expenses. It's hard to see it when you start off poor like I did but it almost feels not real sometimes. You guys have helped people that came from lesser places (In my case, Latin kid from The Bronx) to make huge changes that have put me on equal footing with people who have advanced degrees, ivy, etc in the fund/PE space that I work with today.

This also allowed me to not even care about the recent crypto crash. I know the money is coming in and I don't need to worry about selling because I'm secure, just need to build and make it.

This may not mean much but thank you guys

The long term is Equal Opportunity, Unequal Results. We really believe that and this means people who grew up poor and people who grew up rich get the same info at the same time. This is the fairest society we can think of and you're proof that this is the future

Are we all just gonna ignore the fact that even a $20k business (not even $2k per month) can be sold for $100k!?

No need to get intimidated when thinking about it. Just get started.

Brilliant post - let’s fucking go!

I am blown away that such good info is available on the free substack. Had to make sure today was not Sunday.

In reference to the 'up and down' graph you posted....this is EXACTLY how it works. I started an Amazon biz in 2018 and it was not a thing forever, every day I checked my sales the second I woke up and it was maybe $50-100 revenue a day....I wanted to quit. Then it exploded (2mm last year, projected to do 4mm this year), and I work on it 70% less. Many people say 'wow ur lucky' yup im lucky thats its - smile nod and agree.

Yeah that is 100% how it works. You think about quitting a lot.

For anyone who is in medical sales, (as stated in previous posts) it’s important to represent a product that is in the top of its kind..also, it’s important to be able to differentiate the differences in expected work hours between Medical Device Sales vs Pharma.

In Device, it is going to be different for those in trauma and those in Joint or Spine. You’re on call and it is going to be hard to scale something on the side. You will get calls that XYZ hospital needs you, whenever. However, since the annual income is typically higher than pharma, you can do this for a few years for “experience” then transition into a smoother job so you can begin to start your journey toward independence. All while making high end salary and working 8 - 5, M - F.

As always, DYOR, WAGMI.

The concrete numbers and the firm timeline are crazy high value, but what makes this post nothing short of inspirational is it provides the antidote to the "what the hell's the point" existential anxiety that will be coming. Glad to know I have a foxhole buddy who's got my back in the impending dark/nothing times ahead.

Started out years ago in a back office insurance job. Boy, what a bad decision that was. Insurance companies are even bigger zeros than banks. Recently got my first pure tech career (DevOps engineer) at a machine learning/AI agency that essentially pays me to learn skills to put toward my future software side hustle. Don't exactly know what it'll be yet but the thought of infinite scalability is intoxicating.

The bad news is I'm at the bottom of the ladder looking up. The good news is

a) crossed off step 1 and we're on to step 2; and

b) I've got a rough template to follow from someone who once stood at the same place on the ladder, so thanks for that BTB.

@BowTiedBull, what is your process in terms of writing out your articles? Genuinely curious - do you write ideas into a notepad/phone and expand upon them while writing the content? And how long does it take you from formulating the idea of what you're writing about it to submitting the article?

Great update of the original article. I refered to it frequently and will for this one as well. I am wondering how you see the progression towards 10 BTC. For example currently first year saving would be about 1 BTC at current pricing. However the BTC price is not constant in USD. Do you equate 1 BTC to 100K USD for sake of simplicity as the end goal is 1M? Or would you strive towards adding 1 BTC every single year?

Well we do think 1BTC will be worth $100K relatively soon, so the investment returns were not included in the game plan. Instead of sitting in cash just buy BTC/ETH/Stocks as explained in our prior posts

You should really get eye pops when you realize $50K income is no the same as $50K Biz income

Really enjoyed this article. I've struggled it feels like forever with what my unique "skills" are , I eventually just gave up and started taking action on the things I wanted whether I had the skills or not. I started a few businesses ( all closed now) and got into rental properties (continues to grow) and the only thing I learned was I really have no idea what I'm good at, but the fun part is to keep going as some of my best moments have come from these endeavors ( live selling to strangers, cold approaches, renovating homes, travelling). I'm a little bit older now and the entrepreneurial itch hitting hard, I just have no idea what to start next. Will be pondering this article over the next little while.

Can I make a suggestion? It would be helpful if you included a "Start Here" tab at the top like you used to have on the website. I am not a turbo-autist and I am still trying to wrap my head around everything BTC/ETH/DeFi/etc. I think you are right that the future will be like Ready Player One. Thanks to whoever mentioned the teachyourselfcrypto website as I just started working through it. See you all on DeGen Island!

Going back through old posts just to find comments like this. In the same boat. (A slow boat, apparently, but still on its way to the island.) Buying BTC/ETH and growing income streams. Still reading all the Defi posts though I know it's just a distraction at current net worth. The old "Start Here" tab is the entire reason I have multiple income streams, three years later, but still can't determine when it's time to really start learning Defi, and how much of savings to split between crypto and business investment.

Trying to weigh skill development vs efficiency. Is the long term value of self taught web design greater than outsourcing immediately? In the initial stages of building out an e-commerce site starting with about content and light design. My background is not in graphic design and I am conceding that I will not be able to make the site look elite myself. Curious what framework folks have to weigh this since trying to measure a qualitative ROI. Told myself to learn for a month then outsource but concerned about time sink given I am not highly efficient. Also open to recommendations on good web design hiring boards.
