Chain of Events for the Future of AI Video Content
Level 2 - Value Investor
Welcome Avatar! Don’t think we’re saying anything ground breaking by stating that video (long and short form) is one of the best ways to convert to WiFi money. In addition, the masses absolutely love staring at a screen for hours at a time (zombie like existence).
Neither of those comments are revolutionary. Instead we’re going to walk through the likely path for all of the AI Video Content. We’re just going to look at this from two lenses: 1) as an operator and 2) if you actually do video content day to day.
Don’t worry, if you’re elite at operating or creativity you’re going to be fine. The low quality stuff? Not so much. (Hint: most of white collar work is low quality)
We chose video content because it is trending and you can apply the general framework to any industry. No moat, no creativity, no reputation? Good luck! Will need at least one and ideally all three in the coming years.
Phase 1 Video Editing Value
This was circa 2025. Video creation was largely in shell mode. This means that you came up with a basic idea and AI would come up with a clean outline. The outline would have a hook, copy and call to action. This doesn’t sound like much, but it was huge for time saving. You got to see a few iterations of the shell and that saved you hours of work you’d normally have to pay for or do yourself.
If you had a general knack for good copy, good hooks and good CTAs, you got a handful of quality starting points.
The above video was dropped by a handle called the Dor Brothers. Admittedly, it isn’t quality enough **yet**. Deep emphasis on the word yet. People who hate it are not getting the point: the improvement vs. just 4 years ago is staggering
Case in point is the standard Will Smith eating Spaghetti videos.
One Click Pre-Visual: That’s how we would describe the current state. You can create a high quality video in a day but it isn’t there yet without professional edits. It will create enough audio/video/text to decide if the concept will be a hit (insert need for a high quality decision maker).
Build of a Consistent Voice: Even AI has a consistent voice. The annoying - - - - - marks all built off the same McKinsey model. The difference? Top videos/actors have consistency as well. There is a reason why Arnold/Jason Statham come up in similar themed movies.
You even see it here. Blunt. Hyperfixation. To the point. No non-sense. Impossible to fake. We’re nowhere near household level. However. The observation style, delivery and instant reactions are hard to replicate. Also. We tend to focus on forward looking stuff since no one cares about the past anyway (except women and body count meme context)
Scaled Up A/B Testing: Add this all up and it looks like a massive A/B test on steroids. You have one person who simply knows what will convert better (too many years of work and constantly on top of social trends). They look at the mock ups and then let the META algorithm pick the winner amongst the chosen creatives
Summary
Right now this is directionally where we’ve gotten to. People complaining about AI are certainly not using it. Anyone who has been a decision maker for years is salivating. No longer need to pay someone for landing pages, copy, manual editing etc.
As long as you have the ability to forecast, access to legitimate niche knowledge and authority or distribution? Your margins got thicker.
You now have access to good enough video ads. And. It’s going to get much wilder.
Phase 2: Synthetic + Real Overlap
The next phase is going to be Synthetic + Real Overlap in video form. This means real footage is no longer needed because it is impossible to discern the difference. Impossible means no human can tell the difference. The only way it would be outed as digital is with access to the product (working at the company) or being the person who made it.
Personalized Ads: Things will get real strange. If an ad with a smiling woman works better on John but a laughing guy works better on Jane… They will see completely different ads. This will be automated since AI will know which Ad to show to which person! Instead of A/B testing an ad, you will have a library of thousands of ads and AI simply plucks out the best one for that person
One Man Studio: This also means a single person could compete with a team of 10+ people with ease. Too many chefs in the kitchen. Once a system is created to make the video content the game is about sales quality, cultural adaptation and emotional judgement. Whoever has the best judgement is the winner. Doesn’t matter if the other 10+ people work together or not.
Summary
High Production value is no longer a competitive moat. Every single scene looks real. The value shifts to emotional, cultural and sales.
If you have a good pulse on where society is moving and how humans will react to it, you’ll be around for a long, long, long, time.
Phase 3: Interactive Media
Just imagine a movie where you can control the outcome of the movie. You’ll be able to actively update the jokes, the endings, the beginnings, the main characters… the works. The movie will effectively be an “active” software. Constantly changing.
Instead of having beginning → story → climactic event —> end. It won’t be linear. It’ll be beginning → a billion decisions you can make —> end when you want to to end and on what note
In this environment specifically it means that the primary value is attention.
Now you all understand what it means! The idea that marketing/attention is the new software engineering went viral about a week ago. Luckily you already knew that.
If output is infinity (billions of decisions) this means that trust + community is what survives.
Starting the jungle wasn’t a joke at all. In fact it’s a survival tactic and is continuing to work as expected. Tons of people come and go (grave dancing/quitting) and the top just get bigger and bigger and bigger every single year. Not there yet, but insanely promising. If we know that the majority are NGMI, it doesn’t surprise us that we’ll be a niche community (the whole point if you understand that marketing = software engineering now)
Summary
The basic idea is that volume doesn’t work anymore. You need to be unique, have a reputation and have a community. No one is perfect. It just means you need to be differentiating on all three.
Finally the days of seeing terrible mainstream media articles (all made by mid-wits) will come to an end. This isn’t before the inevitable spam wars we’re going through now and from phase 2.
This Should Sound Eerily Familiar
If you’re reading this and starting to plug in the holes in your own work. Congrats. You’re on the right track.
For those on Wall Street you should already see what this means:
Analysts/Associates: Replace this with initial video creation. Those pitchbooks are the exact same thing. One person with judgement (the VP/Director/MD) is going to iterate over and over again. Number of seats needed now is declining.
In addition, the entire concept of copy pasting numbers into excel is a relic. High quality AI can now paste all of this stuff into excel error free. Just a matter of time.
VP/Director/MD: If you are actually a big time producer you will make millions more. This is because the truly elite people are great at judgement and sales. People like Frank Quattrone will no longer be “once in a generation”. There will be a couple of them each generation. Yes. This also means a lot of people get pushed out (less revenue generators since the super stars are who matter).
Just take this Pyramid and assume the entire base is “Associate 3-7 years experience”. IE. the Base got a lot thinner.
Given our background we’re guessing that comparison is good enough to add onto the video walk through. It’ll apply to front office Wall Street. Don’t even get us started on the back-office. It’ll be significantly more painful there. The headcount reduction to run things will be down more.
Now What to Do About It
As usual, people just read this and panic. “OMG guyyyssss look at this neewwwww thingggyyy”.
If our general premise is correct, we already gave you the tells:
You must own a niche. You won’t see us telling you to go battle it out with the scaled up big boys. The most successful jungle people do exactly that. NOBS simple says “I believe this is better than, here is the data”. Since the niche information was credible and results came in… Can’t back track on earned reputation. Follow the same format. Once you’ve built it up, no one will expect perfection but as long as you provide high value, it’s off to the races
Join a community. We suggest joining the jungle now that a lot of the top people have scaled up. You are free to do what you like though. Just remember that marketing is the new software engineering. If it’s a random celebrity you’re just getting drained for attention since the whole model doesn’t have any built in public success
Start to standardize your processes both at work and in your WiFi Business. As new AI tools come out you will know exactly where it fits. You are now running a digital workforce. We went from local human labor, to global human labor (outsourcing) and now we’re entering digital labor. Get good at this stuff ASAP. When a new tool comes out you don’t want to “guess” where it fits to create a consistent feedback loop based on results (sales) not based on feels (this isn’t a Disney fairytale)
Create a social and emotional framework for how people will behave. You already know our general expectations (degeneracy, digital immersion, religion/spirituality uptick, loneliness, mental health). While this sounds “bleak” it really isn’t since the easiest one is “people will be glued to computers 10+ hours a day”. In that situation, you know to build online and the whole game is deciding how people will act and make purchasing decisions. We’ve mentioned more than enough options on the paid stack. And. Every few months will likely have new ones. Like anything in life, this stuff doesn’t change by the day, every 3-4 months a new trend comes up that is worth pursuing. Decide if you can hit that niche and start immediately
Final Remarks
The internet is about to get flooded with videos that become more and more realistic by the day. Most social networks already prioritize this so we don’t expect it to stop
Since everyone can mass produce in the future, the winners will be the ones who can generate the most attention.
Strong view of the future. Recognizable style. A system that can add new tools. And. Enough results that cause people to say “this matters I need to keep this on my radar”.
Since you’re going to get spammed, you need to develop a better filter. While the video content is still easy to distinguish (real and fake). Soon? No one will be able to tell the difference. Won’t matter for you though. If you develop judgement, own a niche and accurately predict social changes by generation. It’ll be a printing press. No need for the Federal Reserve for you!
Don’t chase volume. Chase leverage. Leverage is: accountability, consistency, media and capital. Multiply your impact without multiplying your hours. This is the future.
