While the path to DeGen Island 2035 is filled with VC scams, HF psyops and expensive rugs that would make a Persian blush… the next couple of years will be paramount to success.
You see. The fundraising remains heated and the 50 year olds who stole your future from you are coming after your computer coins. You can fold or you can continuously remove supply by raiding digital banks (crypto exchanges).
We think you know what to do.
However.
We can’t save them all. Some were destined for a life of mediocrity:

April Promo Overview! It has been about a year since the beginning of the jungle. Below is how we’re going to run the April month promo. The way it works is quite simple, we’re going to incentivize long-term subscribers (of course!) and we’re going to try and help out the DeFi team by gifting away some free trials to *any paid* subscribers.
Promo Part 1 - DeFi: Every single person who is on the paid substack will now have an option to receive a free trial to all of the paid content on DeFi Education! Pretty simple rules: 1) if you have a $100/year subscription you have until the end of April to email us and say you want a one month trial; 2) if you are on $10/month you have until the end of the month to receive a 7 day trial. To be clear, if you bought a $100/year subscription last month and haven’t refunded you’re eligible for a free trial.
As a point of emphasis anyone who gets a free trial gets access to all *old* posts. This is how the Substack system works. Similarly we get this question a lot. If you subscribe to BTB it means you get access to all old paid content as well.
How to Claim the trial: Simply respond to *any* paid post in April. This will confirm that you’re on the paid email list (we’ll double check) and we will add the same email to the DeFi Education trial.
Promo Part 2 - Randomness! We will randomly give away annual subscriptions for free. What we’re going to do is two fold: 1) we will randomly hold a giveaway on twitter and 2) we will randomly choose people who have been here for 2 years. *Hint* if you’re not following us on Twitter you will likely lose a chance at some giveaways.
Promo Part 3: The last item is for people who are on both DeFi Ed and BTB. We’ll have a separate random selection based on people who are on both. This will give you a higher chance of getting both for free at random. Also. If you’re on both when we get close to deciding what to do with our small (but growing) slush fund/treasury you’ll be allowed to vote on what to do with it.
Final Item a Stick! Our goal is to make sure the long-term believers are here. If our retention ratio is high (we have a metric that is 20% above industry average) we *won’t* raise prices. If retention rate is low, we’ll change the price to $11.11/month and $111.10/year. Therefore, everyone is incentivized to save a few bucks and avoid a bug eating future. If you’re on the fence April is the time to go ahead and risk a whopping 27c a day (you can probably pick up 27c a day by going outside in any major city on a daily basis).
Rough Maths: For those obsessed with numbers, for April we expect to give away around 10-15% of whatever comes in. No matter what we do, scammers will always come in and try to game the system so we’ll do our best to cross check and cross reference people who have been here for a full year (either on $10/month or $100/month plans).
Founding Members: If you were a founding member in 2021 (paid $300) you’ll be gifted the next year for free so no need to do anything!
