One other thing you indirectly mentioned but I think needs to be mentioned outright, cut out toxic people, toxic environments and toxic content in your life. It is so easy to fall victim to it and I let toxic situations at work and with family ruin my mood to where I was using alcohol to cope.
If it is a toxic work environment, do not be afraid to look for another job if you are in sales.
If it is a toxic friend that always brings you down and has a pessimistic mindset, cut off ties and run.
If it is a toxic online community or forum you browse, leave bro! It doesn't matter how "realistic" and "black pilled" they sound.
I made this change in 2021 and it feels so good.
As a bonus, change to the cities where winners are going to. Moved out of Atlanta (where you have a ton of Karens and losers) and to NYC, changed my mindset in a massive way. From NYC to now Miami, cannot be happier.
Yeah, I love reading content from you guys, it changed my life years back and took me from a kid meant to die of PhD post grad life to someone who got into SaaS clearing 5k on good months as an SDR within 2 years!!!
The San Fran vs NYC article? Life changing boys! Met so many good friends and got with so many beautiful women while enjoying nightlife pre-pandemic NYC. Looking forward to any articles you all might do in the future about various cities. Been in Miami a few months and slowly starting to find my footing here, amazing 10/10 city, happy to provide whatever insights I can if you like.
ATL and Dallas, whew poor you man lol. I will say that for right now, Miami might not be the best move unless you are looking for a sky high rent. The roommate culture is non-existent here compared to NYC and everyone is flooding in. Perhaps consider Tampa if you can.
If you are adamant though, I'd look for places in the Coral Gables area as Brickell is borderline unaffordable and Wynnwood gets dangerous outside of certain blocks.
Great and I hope you love Miami but for the love of GOD, do not vote like you are in Massachusetts and don't act like a Masshole. No offense but you guys, especially your women, are worse than New Yorkers.
Actually Dallas, which I thought was funny seeing as you didn't care for it lol. Since ATX gets all the press, rents there have exploded while Dallas is still a "hidden gem" imo. Plus, Austin strikes me as being 10 years away from becoming SF. In Dallas, you can get a pretty nice place for relatively cheap, good nightlife/dating scene (especially compared to Houston), lots of yuppies & ambitious people etc.
I think BTB even called it out back in the WSP days, that in Dallas your competition is just the dude making 90K/yr who spends most of his paycheck making Jaguar lease payments.
I'm in Houston right now - born and raised. But, I need to get the hell outta here tbh. And you're right, the dating scene here is pretty weak.
Why did you choose Dallas over other cities, especially one like Miami? I'm heavy in crypto and hear nothing but great things about Miami on ct. I'm thinking of moving there.
And in regards to the Dallas dating scene, what type of chicks do you mainly come across? Latina, White, Middle Eastern, etc...
Had friends/relatives there & liked it when I interned a few summers back. Never been to Miami so no opinion.
Dallas is way more diverse than most people give it credit for. I got with girls of all races. On average all a few points higher than at a Houston bar, better guy/girl ratios etc.
I guess so, have only been for a bit but so many people I meet from there are the dudebro frat guys and all girls seem to be goody two shoe Christians with kids by 30.
Dudebro frat guys is a yes depending on where you go out(Uptown/Deep Ellum/Victory Park). Knox-Henderson/Lower Greenville/Bishop Arts is like late 20s/early 30s, so would be better.
I never encountered those types of girls in Dallas, but all the time in Houston. More likely in the burbs like Frisco/Irving/Plano though.
One of the craziest things about BowtiedJungle as a digital country is that it is growing with a *negatve* tax rate. All these other countries grabbing what they can, instead of investing in the population. This is a fundamental paradigm shift in organization.
I started a side hustle in 2004, which became my full time consulting gig, which became a small agency. However. It took me 15 years to reach my first $1m in ARR. But then it only took 2 years to double to $2m. The learning curve can be steep, but if you can reduce it by at least half, you’ll do far better than I. The fact that you can learn anything online is more true now than 15 years ago.
If you're a free subscriber reading this it's time to go to the paid stuff. 10$/month for life changing content, really. BowTiedBull you gave me back the energy to work hard and enjoy the process thanks !
I own a successful, local service business. I am lost trying to figure how to move this “online” to make money. I use internet for scheduling, etc but not sure how to make money yet or even if possible. Any success stories out there for this issue?
Paradigm shifting POVs are the sharpest of them all: "There is no bigger vote out of the system than changing what you accept as currency." You guys are hilarious. and there is sooooo much truth in humor
I am a talented autist software engineer with over a decade of experience in startups. I recently pivoted to smart contract development. I'm working remotely for a smart contract dev shop and rapidly learning the ropes.
How can I provide value to the Jungle specifically? (Not sure if questions are allowed here but I am a subscriber fyi).
Is there a demand for a smart contract developer among the Bowtied Animals? It seems like while crypto is a major topic, none of the animals are actually building smart contracts.
there's a guy doing it http://bowtiedfox.substack.com but we do need somebody to talk about how to start an agency/business/startup so that could be a good niche
Just curious. BTB mentions writing is not a good way to make real impactful money online, do they mean Copywriting? For example, starting a copywriitng service for companies. Or did they mean writing blogs is not a good way to earn online income? Just curious, thank you.
I would enjoy being the old man around here and would enjoy some young autists help me grow Alto.co. Plus it’s a great app for any terra based small or Indy business.
Quick tip. At the bottom of your home page, there's a "Featured On..." section, however none of these company logos are links. This tactic is extremely popular now and people are catching on to companies who lie about this. Not saying that's you, but you would gain a ton of credibility by adding the actual link to the image of the company who is "featuring" you (Slack, Stripe, etc.).

Bunny - How is coral gables? I've been to Brickell and can afford it. Thinking about moving there from Boston shortly.

so it's better to move once you're retired?

Miami seems cool for a solid 3-4 month stint and then may get old? Flashy, gaudy, but the Latin vibe is of course one of a kind.
Nah, I find it pretty chill and not too flashy at all.
I did something similar and moved away from Houston during the pandemic. QoL/dating scene/general life happiness skyrocketed.
If you do not mind me asking, where did you end up moving to?
Actually Dallas, which I thought was funny seeing as you didn't care for it lol. Since ATX gets all the press, rents there have exploded while Dallas is still a "hidden gem" imo. lol who wants a late 20s/early 30s girl
How much is a nice one-bedroom month to month? And lol at the jaguar comment, I remember that one.
My 1bd luxury high rise apt was like $1300 (with pandemic pricing). I think you can still get a decent place for like $1500-$1800 tbh.
Around 1500 in the heart of the city. Only about 1k with a roommate
I can get clown hash masks on billboards in LA. Overlooking freeways near downtown. DM me on Twitter
If you wait until January 1st to begin your life-improvement habits and "resolutions," you never wanted it bad enough to begin with

Yes it's by design, incentivizes everyone to stay
kiddie games are *officially* down the street in 2022
it's time to level up the jungle to the moon
we are just getting started

the question is: what is the alternative? you paid the "life tax" and now you're set. Cheers.
any advice for starting an agency?

What sort of business? Happy to help you brainstorm…
Auto sales. Auto repair. And towing
could create a substack on how someone can improve their own auto business.
Then charge each client $5/month for subscription.
could also do affiliate sales, and get commission for recommending prods related to your field.

"Dopamine camels" bruh

Where to start to create an online income?
Auto sales, auto repair and towing.

I dont think so as copywriting is basically sales which has lots of income potential
Thanks for the reply and clarification!
When you pay for the Substack you gain access to a treasure trove of knowledge and alpha but there is still some great content for the free Substack
God Bless
