Your advice on being low profile is valuable, a member of my wife's family has unpleasant personal experience in this.
This happened 20+ years ago, not in USA, but in a 5 eyes country. He had a strong profitable security/hardware/IT company ( deliberately vague ) which he and his partner sold for 7 figure amounts, both retained during earn out period. Bought a flash car, life was good, up until the day he was kidnapped.......was missing for 4 days, beaten and tortured every day. 2 of the smarter members of the gang realised they would 100% be caught because of how they asked the ransom to be paid. Decided that better to go to jail for kidnap than murder and dropped him off at hospital and drove off. Only reason he is alive is because 2 of the gang realised they would be caught.
Keeping a low profile is the way to go, it will not be fun being kidnapped.
Thanks for all that you do, older types who are flexible and adaptable will learn a lot from your old blog, twitter and this substack.
Couldn’t agree more on the sports betting strategy. People like the idea of betting on the triumphant underdog and also getting some bragging rights to go along with their returns. Too many movies about plucky upstarts defying the odds.
This mindset has you betting against generation talent and legacy teams out of some misguided moral principle.
I’m sure that people who consistently tail proven winners (few, etc) stay profitable even when you factor in the Buster Douglas’s of the world.
Plus these obvious winners are obvious for the most part, which stops betting being a shitty ROI activity as you aren’t wasting time watching tape and scrutinising stats to find an edge. Everyone knows who the best are. The athlete in the ads and on the billboard? The one with the most sponsorship money? That’s the one you bet on, as a general rule.
If you have 1 income stream. Only focus on crypto that’s it!. This advice is for millennials or younger people who have nothing to lose. Sacrifice 3-5 years of your life learning, making connections, and building skills in the nerd community. Go all in, I promise you it won’t let you down. Work from home if possible to maximize your time.
Might I suggest instead of a Rolex, you invest in a SIG P365 with a good concealed carry holster? Obey all local laws - not that it'll matter by 2035 when 3D printing really takes off. IYKYK.
I’m light of this sub stack, what are everyone’s collective thoughts on SaveTheWorld Token? Not trying to pump it or anything like that, but it’s the first coin I’ve seen with a cool mission. (And hopefully isn’t just some greedy dev team waiting for a rug pull)
Just curious to hear more anon thoughts on it and the goal behind it.
Here’s more info on it below if interested in reading more:
My take: it's a meme coin; but one which actually uses transaction fees to fund good causes, so there's def some value there. That being said, I have no idea what its future "fair value" would be.
Eventually, I think large inflows from retail will take place since it's so "marketable." And I wouldn't be surprised if TikTokers start promoting it like they did with DOGE/SHIB/AKITA and rly pump thee price.
Tip the 50% (or 100%) before you receive whatever service, not after.
Michael Porfirio.
Few.
Tipping before service is a cheat code! I love seeing the reactions from the Waiters and Waitresses :)
Still 20+ years ahead of his time.
I wonder where he's gone. Loved Gmanifesto

Been tipping like this in Mexico since the pandemic began. 'Humildad' and 'respeto' are still virtues here. Gracias Don Toro
Indeed!

Awesome entry. Vicente Fernandez FTW. I hope that song is one of the main music themes in Degen Island 2035, that’s the right mentality.
Tipping well is especially important these days.
Short = limited upside (price can’t go below 0), unlimited downside
Long = unlimited upside, limited downside
Don’t end up like those idiots from Melvin capital who held shorts on GME at <$5/share
Better to stand by what you believe in than denigrate what you don’t.
Applies to everything.
I started tipping 50% a few months ago when indoor dining in NYC started to reopen. You guys are really from the future!!
