most airlines/cruise lines no longer hedge fuel since this typically ended up a net negative after bank fees (not including SW airlines god tier hedge in the past)

Really great read! Super informative, but also funny and entertaining which are factors often overlooked by other crypto writers

Would enjoy seeing this for NYC where my dates cost 200+, rent up 40%, etc. and 25$ banker stipend extremely limiting for dinner options

Brutal, New York and California are going to have a lot of brain drain since the top performers can leave (since they drive so much revenue). Going to be a painful decade for many.

Lots of friends and family want to stay. They don’t take risk and like to take the beating because their circle is in whatever city / state. Got our remote career and will geo-arbitrage to another state to take advantage in the short term and be ready to move again if we have to. As we get older, it’s hard to chill with loved ones. A weekend hangout is only a flight away.

This risk is an experiment for myself and my girl

I was listening to a very successful enterprise account executive telling me about how he opted out of an offer because one company offered more # of options than the other, with no reference to strike price, 409a, evaluations or any of the sort either. Financial illiteracy is everywhere.

“If someone were to rent your home today, how much do you think it would rent for monthly, unfurnished and without utilities?” I asked myself this and I had no clue. Well played...

Part 2 reminded me of several years ago when I had to explain to someone that in a stock split just because they 'get' more shares doesn't mean they are more valuable in total. They couldn't get their head around the fact the individual value of each share decreased in proportion with the split.

It's ironic that a split may actually cause an increase in value due to Unit Bias though...

It definitely does due to unit bias if the market cap is low. Enough people think 10 $10 shares is better than 1 $100 share so they buy the 10.

Doesn't work so well for multi-trillion dollar companies

A question for BTB:

Why on Earth is China shutting down cities to disrupt manufacturing on one hand, building alliances with Saudi Arabia for refineries on the other and also calling for a probe into biological activities funded by USA in Ukraine?

Really crazy stuff that no one's questioning.

Yeah it's not a good set up, not going to make an opinion until china/russia have their talks (supposedly happening).

That said, the manufacturing blow up is a major major gut punch to supply chains

Given the fact that in order to halt inflation, the Fed has to raise rates which will accelerate a recession, what do you see as the most likely outcome? Inflation historically leads to massive social unrest.

Loved it thank you, should help with my case for salary adjustment. I know cash is trash but how do you feel about keeping a big chunk in stablecoins (like GUSD) getting 8% interest on Gemini while waiting for re-entry into BTC/ETH?

We've covered this many times, you're using a centralized custodian so you should be prepared to lose it all. We would never use a centralized custodian
